The Sony HDC-P50 is a lightweight, compact POV system camera that features the world’s first 2/3-inch 4K global shutter three-CMOS sensor system.
It delivers exceptional images, combining impressive sensitivity with wide dynamic range.
The latest addition to what is already one of the largest 4K camera fleets in Europe, The Sony HDC-P50 further expands the options available to our clients for uncompromising UHD and HD live production.
Sony HDC-P50: Low noise, high dynamic range
The HDC-P50 can directly output remarkably crisp, clear 4K HDR images directly from the camera head without a separate processor unit. It features the world’s first 2/3-inch 4K CMOS sensor with global shutter technology, eliminating the ‘jelly’ effect and banding noise. This next-generation imager captures pristine 4K images with exceptionally low noise, impressive sensitivity and high dynamic range. It also achieves the ITU-R BT.2020 broadcast-standard widened colour space.
Compact 4K POV camera ideal for sports applications
The HDC-P50’s small stature makes it ideal for use in sports applications as well as live events. It can be easily mounted on a jib for behind-goal shots or positioned in locations where an operator cannot be deployed, to capture remote shots.
The P50 complements the market-leading Sony HDC-4300 4K camera channel. With its B4 mount, it is compatible with a wide range of 4K ENG lenses, such as the Canon CJ12 or CJ20, or Fujinon UA14 or UA22.
